+ First of all, I am having major with drawls that the Olympics are over. I love summer olympics more than Winter, generally. Or maybe I'm just saying that because this year they were in London.
I watched every swimming event, every gymnastics routine, (by the end of the week it's safe to say I had Aly Raismans floor routine memorized.) I was there watching when history was made by so many USA athletes, including Michael Phelps.
I can't wait for the day when my children are watching the Olympics and they say, "Nahh, that guy has nothing compared to Phelps." and I say, "I watched Michael Phelps, little ones." and they secretly think their mom is so cool, and old.
USA dominated, and I am extremely proud. Proud, is another fitting word to be used with my boys performing at the closing ceremonies last night. (Cue the eye rolls)

+School is almost here. What.
+ Lana Del Ray is my girl. Can't get enough.
+ I made it through Hell week alive.
Cheer last week was oh so rough. Especially doing it with two really bad jammed fingers. Luckily, we pulled it out, and our stunts are sick. Our routine was roughly this,
wake up 5:15 am
go to high school at 5:45
go home around 8:10
sleep until 11:30
practice at the gym at 12:00
go home at 3:00
That was my week. And the hardest part? definitely the afternoon practices. Never thought there would ever come a day when I would consider myself a... dare I say... 'morning person' .. yikes.
But truthfully getting up at 5 every morning was the least of my worries. I knew my precious bed would be waiting for me at 8:00. It was waking up AGAIN to go BACK for another THREE hours. That was rough. But hey, look. I survived.
+ Scrimmage game. Definitely a new atmosphere cheering at high school games. First of all, people actually showed up. Where as a Viking freshman game, you would get grand parents and school teachers supporting their kids. This game, more people showed up. And it was only a scrimmage. Sadly, Timpanogos high school has the worst crowd known to man. At least the grandmas would cheer along with you.
+ Much needed trip to savers took place on saturday. I found an old lady sweater for 2.99
I almost cried. Did I ever think that sentence would run through my mind? Never. I also discovered an oversized sweat shirt calling my name, (literally. It said indy on the sweatshirt.) for 5.00 and old romance novels 2 for 1.00. You can find little gems all over that place. See ya Nordstrom, I'm shopping at savers from now on.
So it's been an exhausting and eventful week. The fact that school starts in precisely 7 days, makes me want to poke my eyes out. Cheers to all my squashmores.
xx
